Academic Conference: Peace Reimagined

In June 2023, the PACS Institute took part in the Ontology of Peace Workshop—an intensive interdisciplinary forum under the International Social Ontology Society. This workshop brought together scholars, practitioners, and policy experts to reassess the conceptual foundations of peace. The PACS Institute presented its paper “Reframing the Ontology of Peace Studies,” which offers a new evidence-based framework for understanding peace not just as the absence of violence, but as a dynamic and sustainable social condition. The session included interactive discussions, peer feedback, and collaborative brainstorming that questioned traditional paradigms and aimed to establish a clearer, more actionable foundation for peacebuilding and human rights advocacy.
